Fishing hooks have been around for centuries; playing a vital role in providing food and commerce. Throughout time, hooks have been made from bones, shells, wood, stone, bronze and even combinations of 2 or more of these resources.
The oldest known hooks were recently unearthed by archeologists in a Jerimalai cave in East Timor, Australia. Through radiocarbon dating of the surrounding soil, scientists have estimated that these relics are between 16,000 to 23,000 years old.
While our Combo Hook does not date back 20,000+ years, it is hand carved in replication of these relics out of Sono Wood and Recycled cow bone.
The Combo Hook represents, Respect for the Ocean and Safe Passage Over Water.
