We want there to be more recognition about just how pivotal the oceans are for the success of humanity and the flourishing of the planet in general. There can be no planet Earth without the oceans. We need the oceans, probably more than the oceans need us. And unfortunately, our actions are driving the devastation of the oceans and all the life that exists within them; life that far outstrips that which we know above the land surface!
Through this website we shall:
- Spread information about the oceans so that as many people as possible can learn more about these great features and understand their role in Earth’s eco system.
- Educate the people about the dangers facing the oceans, e.g. endangered marine species such as walruses, whales, seals, sea lions, manatees, and more. Other dangers include human pollution of the oceans, overfishing, and global warming.
- We shall also encourage conversation and debate about what should be done to help make the oceans healthier, as well as how it should be done.
- We shall campaign for the deeper exploration of the oceans so that we can learn all we can about them. Do you know that as of now 80% of the oceans is neither mapped out nor explored?
- We shall campaign for the protection of the oceans so that we leave these water bodies better than we found them.
- We shall try to contribute to conservation and exploration efforts through some of the revenue we get from our online clothing and jewelry store.
